Exothermic wins impressively in Gulfstream debut

Exothermic, first foal of Irridescence (SAF) and a colt by Empire Maker, won his debut impressively by 2 3/4 lengths going a mile on the turf at Gulfstream Park on Thursday, December 29.  He broke well, stalked a reasonable pace and made a winning move between horses at the 1/8 pole before drawing off to win for fun.  Exothermic raced without Lasix.  Dismissed by handicappers based on his relaxed training regimen, he scored at odds of almost 60-1.  It is safe to say he is unlikely to be as long a price next time.
